RAOC Boxing Chamionships - 3rd/4th/6th February 1975

The RAOC Boxing Championships were held at Graven Hill Bicester, a total of 60 boxers weighed in on the first morning, the largest single entry being from 16 Para Heavy Drop Company. 25 preliminary bouts were held on the afternoon of 3rd February, it was obvious from the physical fitness of the boxers attending that it would be a closely contested championship. The earlier bouts were well fought and were well controlled by the referees, as a result only 12 bouts went the full distance. Owing to entries being down on last year and our wish to have only 15 bouts on the final night, there were no semi finals, and so the preliminary bouts finished on the morning of 4th February, giving the boxers a well earned rest before the finals on the 6th. On the finals night there were 15 bouts decided by contest, but 5 bouts due to lack of opponents at their weights were walk overs.
